July in January?
It seems as if every January we have a little 1-2 week summertime heat wave. Of course the kids love it. I enjoy it with Ethan but it annoys me... I want real seasons... Why do I still live in California? :)

Time with him...
Lately I have felt like that super special relationship I had with my Ethan- before Rachel's birth- is a thing of the past. He acts out a lot and I find most of our interactions are negative and end with me feeling angry and him frustrated with tears- it flat out sucks.
For the past few weeks I have been trying to spend some time each day with just us - during the day & at night- in the hope that things might lighten up between us. I believe it is working! Yes, Ethan is still too rough with his sister and yes, I am still spending a lot of time correcting him but his anger & frustration (as well as my own) has decreased. It's as if now we both are thinking "he/she still loves me"... Silly right?
Anyway today while Rachel slept we went out and puddle splashed- our tradition since he learned to walk. Everything was "mommy, mommy watch this! and mommy, what is this?" we found an earth worm and returned him to the earth and had a great many laughs over the looks of him. It was great fun. I love that little man.

Wool is wonderful
We use wool in our home. I think God gave us an amazing creature to meet all of our needs and it is no small thing that our savior is called "Lamb of God".
Both of my children sleep on wool mattress pads and sometime soon I hope to do the same. My children are cloth diapered (Ethan only at night now) and use wool longies/covers to keep their clothes dry. I also use wool nursing pads and diaper liners for my Rachel!
****Wool is a fabulous textile that absorbs and wicks moisture away from the skin and can regulate body temperatures. Even when your hot, wool keeps you cool. Wool is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and holds up to 40% of its weight in liquid as long as its kept lanolized. Wool resists both dirt and moisture; really high quality wool seldom needs to be cleaned if it is aired out frequently and allowed to dry thoroughly between wearings. Unlike synthetics, wool does not accumulate body odors. Wool is also heat and fire resistant. ****
Photos 2& 3 are of 'Barefoot Hollow' wool soakers! You can find this shop on Etsy! Photo 1 is a creation by 'Poverty.Jane', currently on a year long break! :(
****All this information is pretty common knowledge but I want to give credit to Poverty.Jane for spelling it out so clearly. :) You're a treasure Kate!
